Imperfect world

Nothing is in perfect order in the newly-opened restaurant Imperfecto. Yet, its popularity is growing, reports rakesh kumar

Everything looks messed up or cluttered in the newly-opened restaurant Imperfecto Gurgaon. Cycles are strung upside down cycles along the walls that are adorned with warped paintings, chairs are hung on the walls, beds used for tables and upside down lamps act as ceiling lights ~ in other words, it is a topsy turvy world. And in this imperfect place, people could be seen enjoying themselves. Certainly, imperfection is the restaurant's USPs to set it apart from other high-end restaurants in the Capital. For us this was also one of the reasons to step into the restaurant.

Ambience
Located on the 2nd floor in the DLF Cyber Hub, Gurgaon, the first thing that struck us was the ambience and the decor. Lovely curtains, colours and installations all across the restaurant make it very tempting to walk through the place. Once inside one realises why it is called "Imperfecto". The restaurant has both in-door seating and alfresco area but not in order. Their wooden stairs, metal art work at the entrance, dim lights, water body inside may be impressive, but at the same time the loud music, which can be heard from a distance could put one off. All in all, the place has a very lounge feel in the way they have set up the seating arrangements, with the bar giving a happening feel.

Food

The restaurant's chef Nuria Rodriguez Parra is Spanish, and needless to mention, she is a master in
Mediterranean and Spanish food. The menu has roasts, grills, burger, main courses, sandwiches, pizzas and desserts. And their bar offers wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We started our culinary journey with Pizza Chicken with Barbecue Sauce, made up of chicken marinated with exotic herbs, fresh tomatoes and basil, mozzarella, oregano, and extra-virgin olive oil ~ it was superb. Next on the platter was Risotto Fungi Porcini with champagne ~ Risotto with mushroom porcini Italian, flavours of basil, parmesan cheese, French champagne and olive oil, served with bread. It was a vegetarian dish and more than its taste I liked their serving style. Then there was Chicken in Pesto Sauce ~ Chicken marinated with pesto sauce, roasted garlic, onion, herbs and olive oil and grilled. The final fare was Exotic Mushrooms with Garlic made up with a typical Tapas from the Spanish capital, with flavours of spice and herbs, also served with bread. For dessert we had Pudding of Chocolate.
Not to miss: If one decides to visit the restaurant, get ready for one surprise. Their chef Nuria Rodriguez will suddenly appear at your table, with offerings like a small portion of  Pizza or drink. Don't hesitate to pick it because that is free of cost or one of their promotional tactics.

Service:
This is one area that needs to improve since there were long gaps between one dish and the next.
Verdict: Fond of Spanish or Mediterranean food? Add Imperfecto to your list
